Our journey
Our story begins with a commitment to craftsmanship and ethical production. Inspired by the original Nomadic State of Mind journey in Nicaragua, we work closely with skilled local artisans who handcraft our rope sandals with care and precision.
What started as a small initiative has grown into a long-term collaboration supporting local craftsmanship and fair working conditions in a community where meaningful work truly matters.
Handcrafted with purpose
Each pair of Nomadic State of Mind sandals is handmade using recycled polypropylene rope. The process is slow, deliberate, and rooted in respect for both people and materials.
By choosing to do things right from the beginning, we create durable products designed to last — both in quality and in relevance. Comfort, functionality, and timeless design are never compromised.
Responsible production
Our rope is produced in North Carolina from partly reclaimed polypropylene cord, chosen for its strength, durability, and reduced environmental impact. For us, durability is sustainability — the longer a product lasts, the less it needs replacing.
We also operate under a No Scraps Left Behind mindset. Leftover rope materials are transformed into rope art and accessories such as rugs, bottle carriers, and functional objects — minimizing waste and maximizing creativity.
Minimal packaging
We keep packaging simple and intentional. No unnecessary shoe boxes — just a pair of sandals tied together with a string and a sizing/info tag attached. Less packaging means less waste and a lighter footprint.
Looking ahead
Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We continuously evaluate our materials, processes, and impact, with the long-term goal of increasing recyclability and reducing waste even further.
What never changes is our belief in transparency, longevity, and conscious choices — not fast fashion.
